The Help by Kathryn Stockett

What is this book about?
This book is about a group of maids and the families they work for during the 1960's in Jackson, Mississippi. The story is told through the eyes of the African-American maids who work for the white women of the town as well as being told through the eyes of the women and families who employ them. This novel shows the racism that existed in the southern states of America in the 1960's.

Would you recommend it to a friend?
Yes I would recommend this book to a friend, it is written very well. The story is very thought-provoking:
it makes you think about how people felt about discrimination at that time.
